Safety Guidelines
Last updated: 4 July 2026
Safety on FetchIt is a shared responsibility between customers, riders and shoppers. These guidelines help every delivery, errand and shopping trip across Techiman and Sunyani stay secure, for your money, your details and your person. Following them keeps you protected and keeps the community trustworthy for everyone.
Keep everything on FetchIt
- Chat and pay only inside the app. Escrow, ratings and dispute support only work when the money and the conversation stay on FetchIt. Anyone asking you to move off-platform is a red flag.
- Never share your PIN, OTP, or password. FetchIt staff will never ask for them. Your Mobile Money PIN is entered only on your own phone, never given to a rider or "support" caller.
- Agree the price in chat first, then fund your escrow wallet. Money is held safely and released to the provider only after you confirm delivery.
For customers
- Check who's coming: confirm the rider or shopper's name, photo, rating and (for riders) vehicle and plate before handing over anything or getting in range.
- Meet at safe, public, well-lit landmarks. Avoid isolated spots, and prefer daytime hand-offs where possible.
- For shopping errands, agree the budget up front and check the item photos and prices your shopper sends in chat before you release payment.
- Inspect your goods before you release escrow or confirm a cash payment. Once released, funds move to the provider.
- Keep your delivery address and personal details in the app; don't post them publicly.
- If something feels wrong, use the in-app SOS button and contact support immediately.
For riders & shoppers
- Complete KYC honestly with your real ID and a clear selfie. Your account is yours alone; never lend it out.
- Confirm the order details in chat before you set off. For shopping, photograph items and receipts so the customer can approve the spend.
- Ride and drive responsibly: obey traffic laws, wear a helmet, and never use your phone while moving.
- Prefer the in-app wallet over cash. If you must handle cash, count it in a safe place and confirm it in the app.
- Use the SOS button if you ever feel unsafe on a job, and let someone know your whereabouts.
- Be professional and respectful. Your rating is your reputation and your livelihood.
Prohibited items & conduct
To protect the community, the following are not allowed on FetchIt:
- Illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, or any illegal goods.
- Alcohol or tobacco to anyone under 18, and any age-restricted item without proper checks.
- Hazardous, stolen, counterfeit, or perishable items handled unsafely.
- Live animals or anything that endangers a rider or the public.
- Harassment, threats, fraud, impersonation, or violence of any kind.
In an emergency
If you are in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first. Ghana Police: 191 / 18555, Ambulance: 193, Fire: 192. Then press the SOS button in the FetchIt app, which alerts our team with your details, and report the incident to support so we can act.
Reporting & disputes
- Report a user or a problem straight from the chat, or through Contact Support.
- If a payment goes wrong, don't release escrow; open a dispute and our team can refund or resolve it.
- We operate zero tolerance for fraud, harassment and violence. Confirmed breaches lead to suspension or permanent removal.
